SDGI presentation at Rotary International

Sustainable Development Group International - 28 Jan, 2009

SDGI will hold a presentation at Rotary International on Sustainable Development in Face of Public and Private Initiatives

Related to Environmental ProtectionThe proactive involvement of the private sector in projects related to Sustainable Development can arguably be considered as one of the most important developments in modern international relations. In a collective effort to meet the millennium development goals as stated by the UN, new challenges are presented for all social sectors. A growing number of organizations are changing their structures and consequently their policies on how to best accommodate current and potential future needs. Are International Organizations, NGOs and Social Entrepreneurs adequately equipped to foster positive co-operation and how can we best find suitable incentives for all sectors to actively participate in promoting international developmental projects

Pertinent Questions:

  • What is sustainable development?
  • What does it entail?
  • What processes are relevant?
  • Relevant actors in and motors behind this development?
  • What does this imply for future international co-operation?
  • Case Study: Public Private Initiatives in Relation to Environmental Protection Panama
