Vanesa Ortiz

Background, Interest, Experience:
Vanesa is currently the Project Coordinator in Guatemala for the AECID (The Spanish Cooperation and Development Agency). Her responsibilities entail formulation, monitoring and evaluation of project related to local governance and local institutional development.

She was previously the Technical Programme Coordinator for the DEMUCA Foundation, Panama, where she is working on strengthening local governance through municipal political infrastructures as well as municipal reconstruction of Costa Abajo, Colón, Panama.

Vanesa profiles herself with her good knowledge of the UN system as she has previously worked as a Programme Assistant for Environmental Economics and Government at the United Nations Development Programme in Panama, as well as UNHCR and UNESCO.

Education:
Vanessa holds a Degree in Politics and Public Administration, as well as a Master in International Cooperation and Development from Universidad del Pais Vasco, Biscay, Spain.
